KILLINGLY–A high school principal has been put on leave after an incident.
Mary Verrastro became the principal of Killingly High School in July 2015, and on Thursday she was placed on administrative leave with pay.
Killingly Schools Superintendent Kevin Farr said she was placed on leave due to an active internal investigation being conducted by the school district into a pending allegation made at school. It is being treated as an employee matter.
While she is out, two assistant principals and an assistant school superintendent are filling in.
