Will the “X-Files” revival end up being more than just a limited series?
Speculation is running rampant that there will be another run of episodes for the supernatural show after comments from FOX executives indicated their desire to move forward.
“We said before it aired that we would love to do more, and we are over the moon with the performance,” David Madden, the FOX entertainment president, told Variety in an interview. “We haven’t talked to the talent yet about season 2 in any more definitive way than we had prior to airing the show, but certainly, it seems like there’s an audience responding to the show that would love to see more episodes.”
FOX has been teasing Monday night’s episode as a “season” finale, not a series finale, which has added fuel to the rumors.
FOX hasn’t made any official comment on the possibility of season 2, but Variety reports the deciding factor would be the schedules of the show’s leading cast members, specifically Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny.
