It's National Chili Day and Jonathan Bellobuono and Nils Toledo from First and Last Tavern of Middletown joined FOX 61 Good Day Connecticut with a delicious chili recipe.
CHILI INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Qt Chili Sauce
- 1 Qt tomato fillets in puree
- 1 Qt of white beans
- 1 Qt red kidney beans
- 1 cup diced peppers
- 1 cup diced onions
- ½ cup garlic
- ½ cup cilantro
- 2oz chipotle
- 1oz chili powder
CHILI COOKING PROCESS:
- Put beef in a pot and begin to let it cook.
- Add veggies, peppers, onions, garlic, cilantro.
- Add spicy chili sauce, tomato fillets and beans. Stir.
- Let it reduce.
- Add Salt and Pepper to taste.
- Then pour the Chili into a bowl.
- Finish each serving with fresh Pico de Gallo (a combination of chopped tomatoes, onions, and cilantro) and a dollop of chipotle cheddar sauce
