HARTFORD — A New Haven man has been sentenced to prison for paying nearly $350,000 in bribes to a West Haven housing authority official.

Fifty-eight-year-old Andrew Ross was sentenced to one year and one day in prison followed by three years of probation.

Ross pleaded guilty in September 2015 to conspiracy to commit bribery in connection with a program receiving federal funds.

Prosecutors say Ross made approximately $349,500 in corrupt payments between January 2007 and February 2012 to Michael Siwek, the former executive director of the West Haven Housing Authority, and Siwek’s company, Four Star Development Company, LLC, in exchange for government contracts and business.

Ross controlled business entities that received WHHA business and contracts for financial and consulting services.

Siwek pleaded guilty to related charges in September 2014. He awaits sentencing.
