ENFIELD – Police have arrested a Broad Brook man who’s accused of attacking another man with a machete.
Zchacorey Pouncey, 30, was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and related charges.
Police said that at around 11:30 p.m., they responded to reports of a disturbance at the Liedertafel Singing Society & German Club on Depot Street in Broad Brook.
Pouncey was locked out of the bar due to erratic behavior. He then pulled a machete and broke a window. Pouncey left the club by the time police arrived, possibly heading to Enfield.
At the Enfield home Puncey was involved in an altercation with a 36-year-old victim with lacerations to his hand. Pouncey had a laceration on his head.
The victim told police that Pouncey had assaulted him with a machete.
Both men were taken to the hospital for treatment. There’s no word on their current conditions.
Police didn’t say whether Pouncey was being held or when he would appear in court.
It’s unclear whether Pouncey has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
