WATERBURY -- Police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal stabbing Sunday morning.

Police charged Dario Rosado, 25,  with murder,  criminal attempt at murder and reckless endangerment.

Police responded to Baldwin Street on a disturbance complaint at 4:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers learned that a victim, Ricardo Medina, 22, was walking down the road when he was attacked by an unidentified suspect.

He was stabbed twice - once in the chest and then on the side of his abdomen.

Medina was transported to St. Mary's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim's family and friends held a candlelight vigil in his memory Sunday night. They lit candles, played his favorite music and shared photos of him.

His cousin Eduardo Rivera was at the vigil. He said they were inseparable and he was in utter shock that his cousin was killed.

"I can't believe my older cousin is gone," Rivera said. "He never got in trouble, never was arrested, always a humble kid, always please thank you, very polite."

Medina's half-sister said she hadn't seen her brother in years, but judging by his friend's Facebook posts, he hadn't changed one bit.

"He was very humble, very nice and sweet, that's all I got to read before I had to put my tablet down and I couldn't read anymore," Jamaira Lopez said.

Rivera said if he had any words for his cousin, they would be simple: "I love you, I wish I could see you one more time."
