SIMSBURY--The Class LL boys basketball tournament got underway Tuesday night in Simsbury as the #12 Trojans hosted the #21 Wildcats of Norwich Free Academy. Simsbury played well in the third, and the strong quarter allowed the team to run away with a 50-26 victory, and will face Ledyard in the next round on Thursday.
The girls basketball tournament is well under way as the #5 Capital Prep Trailblaziers hosted the #13 Lions of Northwest Catholic. Although the Lions stayed close early into the second half, Capital Prep pulled away late in the game to win 61-43, and therefore advanced to the semi-finals where the the team will face New Fairfield.
