STORRS–After months of conversation and rumors, it was announced on Friday what might replace the UConn Co-op bookstores.
A four-month bidding process to decide the fate of the co-ops is coming to an end, and just two companies are still in the running to take them over: Barnes & Noble and Folletts.
UConn officials are expected to make a final decision by the end of the month.
The Co-ops are a nonproift organization and fought hard to remain on campus, even submitting an application during the bidding process, but in the end the university chose to go a different route.
