NAUGATUCK- A state police cruiser and a motorcycle crashed on Route 8 in Naugatuck on Saturday.
It happened on Route 8 north around 2:30 near exit 27, according to state police, when a trooper was investigating a woman walking on the side of the road.
Trooper Josue Dorelus was unhurt but the motorcyclist, John K. Miguez of Nauguatuck, was taken to the hospital.
According to police, Dorelus was parked with his emergency lights on near the top of the on-ramp when he was hit from behind by Miguez on his Harley.
Police said Miguez, fell off the bike after it skidded about 90 feet before hitting the cruiser. He was treated at the scene and taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury for a possible concussion and several cuts.
Minor damage was reported to both vehicles.
The right lane of Route 8 and the exit 27 northbound on-ramp were closed as police investiged. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The woman walking on the side of the road ran away and wasn’t found.
