OLD LYME — Two people were killed in a car crash late Saturday night. Norman Enderson, 91, was driving on Mile Creek Road near Bailey Road around 10 p.m. when he lost control and smashed into a concrete wall.

He and his passenger, Janice Bretlinger, 87, were pronounced dead at the scene by EMS responders.

Police say Enderson failed to accurately maneuver his vehicle while approaching a railroad overpass, causing him to strike the bridge abutment head-on.

State Police are investigating the crash with assistance from Old Lyme and Amtrak Police. Anyone with information is asked to contact Troop F at (860) 399-2100.
