MILFORD–Police have issued a warning to parents after a stranger approached a child.

On Monday around 5 p.m. a juvenile was outside a home on Baxter Lane, near Ludlow Drive, when a man pulled up next to him in a car. The man opened the back passenger door of the car, but at that point a family member saw what was going on and ran to the juvenile. The stranger then sped off towards New Haven Avenue.

The car is described as a newer silver Mazda sedan with a spoiler on the trunk, black rims and a Connecticut license plate with the first number of 8.

The man is described as light-skinned, about 5-foot-6, thin, and he was wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and sneakers.

If you have any information or see a car or man fitting the description, or if you see suspicious activity, please call police at 203-878-6551. You can also call Detective William Haas directly at 203-783-4771 or 203-877-1465, or email him at whaas@ci.milford.ct.us.
