HARTFORD  — A 21-year-old man police say was present when an 18-year-old high school senior died in a basement bedroom of a Hartford home earlier this year is headed back to court.

Torrick Maragh is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Hartford on Tuesday on gun possession charges in the case.

Maragh has not been charged with the Jan. 5 death of Nasashalie Hoy, but police say the two were together at the time of Hoy’s death.

According to police reports, Maragh says Hoy killed herself with his 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun after the two argued and then got into a physical altercation.

Police tell The Hartford Courant that the case remains under investigation.

Both Maragh’s lawyer and mother refused comment when approached by the newspaper.
