MANCHESTER – Police said they arrested a drug dealer who has been selling “Molly” in Vernon on Thursday.
Police conducted a buy bust operation in the parking lot of Tri City Plaza in Vernon, on a street-level hallucinogen dealer, Michael Ibscher, 24 of East Hartford, street named “El Jefe”.
According to police, undercover officers bought Molly from Ibscher but during the drug buy arrest, Ibscher escaped, hitting an unmarked police cruiser. He took off out of the complex and into South Windsor using Kelly Road. Nobody got hurt during his escape.
Later that night after escaping police one more time in East Hartford, Ibscher gave himself up to East Hartford Police
Once in custody he was served with a number of drug-related charges and a total of four warrants. His bail totaled $750,000.
Ibscher admitted to also having marijuana while he ran from police in Vernon. That marijuana was later recovered by police.
“Molly” is the street name for MDMA (methylenedioxy-methamphetamine) a synthetic drug that alters mood and perception.
