BOSTON – According to the Boston Business Journal, General Electric isn’t the only company Boston officials are trying to entice out of the state.
Documents obtained from the city of Boston after an open records request from media outlets show that Aetna is also being courted to leave the state, and Boston isn’t the only one making a bid.
Boston officials also would only say they city is interested in engaging in conversations with businesses about opportunities to relocate to Boston.
Of Aetna’s 50,000 employees company-wide, 6,000 work in Connecticut.
“We remain headquartered in Hartford, and we’re committed to our employees here, who continue to be an important part of our future,” said an Aetna spokesman Friday afternoon.
