Local fans are getting very excited. When FOX 61 visited Trump's campaign headquarters in Connecticut, there were some volunteers getting ready for the event.

"I think it is definitely time for a change I mean he's run a business successfully and it's time for a candidate like this and not just a career politician I believe," said Lisa Lagosh.

Connecticut Republican Party Chairman JR Romano explained why it's so important for candidates to do well in the state, saying, "CT is not a winner take all state so every delegate in this state is going to matter."

He's not the only candidate making a last stand before the April 26 primary. Last week, John Kasich drew a standing-room only crowd at his first major event in Connecticut. Sacred Heart University hosted the Ohio governor for a little less than two hours, during which Kasich made a speech and took questions.

Despite the state's mere 28 Republican delegates, political analysts say Connecticut is shaping up to be a player in the national race.
