DANBURY — A Newtown teacher who was arrested for allegedly bringing a gun to the town’s middle school is due in court for his arraignment this week.

Jason Adams is expected to appear Wednesday in Danbury Superior Court.

He was arrested on April 6 and placed on administrative leave. He was released on his own recognizance.

Police said he had a valid pistol permit, but Connecticut state law prohibits possession of firearms on school grounds.

Adams has not responded to phone messages left at his home.

Some parents were truly upset by the news, saying their children admired the instructor but there were some parents who said the situation is concerning to them and they’re worried about their children.
