Greenwich police looking for Mercedes driver in fatal hit and run

GREENWICH — Police are searching for the driver of a Mercedes-Benz that was involved in a fatal hit and run accident Sunday night.

Police were called to the scene at East Putnam Avenue by Hillside Road in the area of Greenwich High School.

A 43-year-old man was struck and killed around 11 p.m. He has been identified as Edward Setterberg, of Cos Cob.

Police said the driver had fled the scene.

They recovered evidence indicating the vehicle involved is a 2006 or later Mercedes-Benz M class SUV with a damaged silver honeycomb grill with the Mercedes-Benz logo in the center of it.

The damage to the grill is to the right side. At this time the vehicle color is unknown.
