WATERBURY - Two tractor-trailers collided on Route 8 Friday morning.
The accident involved two trucks, both of which rolled over on their sides with one crossing the guardrail, going partially into the southbound side of the highway.
State Police said one of the trucks veered into the lane where the other was traveling, striking it and causing it to roll over.
The accident shut down all but one of the northbound lanes, and delayed traffic on the southbound side near Exit 30.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. Both drivers were taken to the hospital for the treatment of their injuries.
Emergency crews were also dealing with a fuel spill, and expect that clean up will take some time. The accident happened just south of the intersection with I-84 near where 7th Street crosses over the highway.
