MIDDLETOWN – A rescheduled half-marathon will held Sunday in Middletown and will now honor a hit-and-run victim.

The road race was canceled a few weeks ago due to an impending snowstorm.

Now, the Hartford Marathon Foundation’s Harvard Pilgrim Middletown Half and Legends 4-Mile will be held on Sunday in honor of Barbara “Bobbi” Eddinger, 61, a Middletown resident, active church member and local business owner, who was killed in a March 31 hit-and-run accident.

Officials said the race course will be lined with blue ribbons and participants will also be wearing the ribbons to honor her.

Runners are asked to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Amazing Grace Food Pantry in Middletown, as well. Nine-hundred pounds of food were donated last year.

The race will be held at the Union Green in Middletown and starts at 11:30 a.m. with a Fit Kids half-mile and timed 1 mile race starting at 10:45 a.m.
