GROTON--Another happy homecoming at the Naval Submarine Base in New London.
The USS Toledo returned to its home port after months out at sea.
The fast-attack nuclear sub spent its deployment in the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the Persian Gulf.
Most deployments are usually six months, but this one with the Toledo kept the crew another month at sea.
"Nobody wants to spend any more time away from their families," Commander Michael Majewski said. "But they (the crew) handled it like the professionals that they are."
The USS Toledo has extra special meaning for its skipper. Cmdr. Majewski is actually from Toledo, Ohio.
In 2009, FOX 61 was invited aboard the Toledo for an overnight ride-a-long.
