TRUMBULL–More than 20 million people will watch the Trumbull High School Golden Eagle Marching Band next year.

No, they won’t all be packing themselves on the team’s football field–it’s probably a bit too small for that. Rather, the team has been chosen by Macy’s to march in the 2017 Thanksgiving Day Parade.

On Wednesday, representatives from Macy’s that work on the parade visited the high school for an evening annual banquet to announce the exciting surprise to students and staff.

The band was one of 10 picked to march in the 2017 parade, and hundreds applied.

The band has a storied history; it marched in the 1997 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and both the 54th and 56th presidential inaugural parades for President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama.
