HARTFORD — Police made a number of arrests Wednesday night on drug charges and seized drugs, cash, weapons and ‘sizzurp,’ a codeine syrup mix that is used to get high.

Wednesday, police conducted an operation in the area of Main Street, Nelson Street, Westland Street, and Sanford Street; locations where they had received many complaints about drug sales. Police arrested eight people and seized $1,998 in cash, over an ounce of crack cocaine, two ounces of marijuana and heroin.

At that time, they were able to develop information that led them to believe that drugs and other items were being stored at 10 Stanford St. They arrested seven people at that location and found a loaded 9 mm handgun, 5 grams of crack cocaine, over an ounce of liquid PCP, several bags of packaged PCP, $3362.00 in cash and a bottle of sizzurp.

‘Sizzurp’ is a mix of concentrated codeine, soda, and a Jolly Rancher is sometimes added.

Police charged the following people.

  • Jeri Collins, 35, was charged with Criminal possession of firearm, Possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession of hallucinogenic, possession with intent to sell hallucinogenics and interfering with search warrant.
  • James Williams, 26, of Hartford was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell  narcotics, possession of hallucinogenics, possession with intent to sell hallucinogenic and interfering with search warrant.
  • Alexsondra Williams, 42, of Hartford was charged with criminal possession of firearm, possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession of hallucinogenic and possession with intent to sell hallucinogenics.
  • James White, 52, of Hartford, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession of hallucinogenic and possession with intent to sell hallucinogenics.
  • Lishawn Williams, 34, of Manchester was charged with interfering with a search warrant.
  • Charles Jackson, 26, of  Manchester was charged with interfering with a search warrant.
  • Jack Williams, 38, of Manchester was charged with interfering with a search warrant.
  • Franchist Cofield, 32, of New Britain was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession of controlled substance.
  • Ciara Ortiz, 22, of Hartford, was charged with possession of narcotics.
  • David Fairley, 40, of Hartford, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, and possession with intent to sell narcotics, operation under suspension
  • Rose Gilhooly, 18, of Windsor Locks, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia
  • John Kehoe, 33, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia

The following people were ticketed. Tickets are typically issued for people who have :

  • Todd Joiner, 27, of Hartford, charges possession of controlled substance
  • Pedro Santiago, 28, of Hartford, charges possession of controlled substance
  • Hawan McCray, 35, of East Hartford, possession of controlled substance
