LOS ANGELES — Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood were among the big winners at Sunday night’s American Country Countdown Awards and singer and songwriter Toby Keith performed a tribute to the late legend Merle Haggard.
The special tribute to the “Okie from Muskogee” singer and songwriter, who died on his 79th birthday on April 6 included Haggard’s band. Prince was also honored in the show when the crowd wore purple armbands according to Fox News.
Other performers for the show included Bryan, Underwood, Brooks & Dunn, Martina McBride, Florida Georgia Line, Kelsea Ballerini, Sam Hunt and Cam. The show aired live on Fox from the Forum in Inglewood, California.
