MYSTIC--Chris Jander, with the Mystic Seaport, is ready to show off its newest vessel, The Wireless.

Mystic Seaport is infamous for not offering any accommodations, but they're changing that, at least a bit. The seaport is now renting out a yacht on the harbor so that you can stay in the thick of things when visiting Mystic.

The yacht sleeps six comfortably in four bedrooms with four bathrooms, according to the website Airbnb, where you rent homes and hotel rooms for the night. And it's all available for $400 a night.

Since the '80s, The Wireless sailed all around the world.  Its owner donated it to the Seaport, and now, all signs point to a new role--docked, but still ready for passengers.

"We were talking about what to do with the boat for her time here," Jander said. Dan McFadden, who also works with the Seaport, added, "'Hey, can we do Airbnb?' And everyone looked around and said, 'I don't know, I hadn't thought about it."

The idea of welcoming guests is a bit of uncharted territory for the Seaport, but it gives the museum an opportunity to show a different view of what’s going on, especially after dark.

Jander said, "It's something we haven't done before--it's something we're interested to see how it goes."
