HARTFORD -- They are busy building on the future the Capital City.

In Hartford's Frog Hollow neighborhood, the women are doing all the heavy lifting as part of Habitat for Humanity's "Women's Build Project." The project has become something of a Mother's Day tradition, and on Grand Street two homes are in the final stages of construction.

"We come with that energy, that effort and we want to make it one hundred percent," said Karraine Moody, the executive director of the Hartford-area Habitat for Humanity.

Hartford Habitat estimated about two dozen women were busy painting, hammering, and sawing their way to help complete both homes by the June 10 dedication day.

"It's encouraging women to find their inner strength," said Christina D'Amato, from Habitat for Humanity. "Women do rock!"
