SOUTH WINDSOR -- A fisherman was rescued after being stranded for a time on a sand bar in the Connecticut River.
Officials said they received a call from another fisherman for a man missing in the river around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning. Emergency crews staged in the area at the end of Ferry Road in South Windsor
Crews searched the river between South Windsor and Windsor using thermal imaging cameras.
They found the man was stuck on a sand bar. Firefighters from Windsor and South Windsor brought him to shore. Officials said he was not injured.
