Counseling was being made available to students.
President Jack Miller released the following statement on Saturday afternoon:
I deeply regret to inform you that on Saturday morning we learned of the death of a CCSU student. The student’s parents and immediate friends were notified, and our counselors have met with them. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the student’s family and friends. Out of respect to the student’s family, we are not releasing the student’s name.
Because the death of one of our students is a terrible tragedy that affects us all, I want to say that especially at this stressful time of the academic year, it is all the more necessary to keep watch over each other and to support each other. Your compassion and understanding can make an important difference.
