NEW HAVEN — A Derby man has pleaded guilty to supplying heroin that in one case led to a fatal overdose.
The U.S. Attorney’s office says 20-year-old Bradley Commerford pleaded guilty Friday to distribution of heroin to an individual under the age of 21, a federal offense.
Authorities had been investigating a fatal heroin overdose in Derby on Feb. 17 that resulted in the death of a 23-year-old man and two non-fatal heroin overdoses in Shelton on Feb. 16. The investigation identified Commerford as the source of heroin in all three cases. The investigation also revealed that Commerford sold heroin to a 16-year-old individual who did not overdose.
Commerford is scheduled to be sentenced in Hartford on July 28. He faces up to 40 years in prison.
