Police search for suspect after double-shooting in New Haven

NEW HAVEN – Two people were shot in The Hill section of New Haven early Saturday morning.

Police responded to a home at 4 Arthur Street just after 3 a.m. on reports of shots fired. They discovered two victims, one male and one female, had suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds.

The first victim, Wade Johnson, 29, sustained a single gunshot wound to the hip. The second victim, Taylor Barnes, 22, was shot in the abdomen.

According to investigators, the two victims were involved in an argument with a with several people before somebody shot them and ran away.

The victims were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for emergency treatment. Johnson has since been released, while Barnes underwent emergency surgery. She is now listed in serious, but stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.

Officers did not find the shooter.
