Connecticut gun laws have been strengthened, in order to protect victims of domestic violence
. As of October 1, persons subject to a temporary restraining order must give up their guns within 24 hours. A hearing to make the order permanent must be held within seven days, and if it is not made permanent, or the temporary order is vacated, they would get their guns back.

Gov. Dan Malloy has committed to singing it into law once it hits his desk in the coming days.
