ELLINGTON--It's been nearly five months since the murder of Ellington mom Connie Dabate, and police have not released new information on the case or named any person(s) of interest.

Ellington First Selectman Lori Spielman said State Police continue to work the case.

"It's not forgotten," said Spielman. "It's not dropped. They are still working on it."

Spielman said she asks State Police for updates every week, and met with a State Police lieutenant Wednesday. "I asked him if there were any updates, and he said no, not at this time. But they are still working on it."

The first selectman added that the case is quite complicated.

"They're still trying to make sure they have enough evidence for a case and make sure that their evidence is perfectly in order," said Spielman.

Accoridng to Spielman, Rick Dabate and his two children still live at their house on Birchview Drive. FOX 61 saw Dabate and his children leave the house Wednesday afternoon.

Elizabeth Pierkowski, who lives a short drive away, moved to Ellington two weeks after Connie's death on December 23, 2015.

"When I take my dogs out in the morning, which is 5 o'clock, I'm out with a very heavy-duty flashlight," said Pierkowski.

Pierkowski said she would like an update on the status of the investigation. "I know the police can't really give us all the information, but we'd definitely like to know any progress."

"You go through different emotions," said Ellington mom Natasha Schulman. "You know, initially it was you're scared and you don't know what's going on, but you want this resolved eventually, so I'm not sure why it's taking so long."

Spielman promises the case will be solved. "This will not be a cold case, no. There will be an end to it. When and how soon? I don't know."

On Wednesday, State Police told FOX 61 there were no updates on the case.
