NORWALK – A child was killed on Thursday night after being struck in a driveway.

Around 5:10 p.m. a phone call was made to emergency dispatchers reporting that a child had bit hit by a car on Woodacre Road. The child, who police identified as five-year-old Peter Tinnen-Strmiska, was standing in a residence’s driveway when a car pulled in and accidentally hit the child. Tinnen-Strmiska lived in Norwalk.

Norwalk Police, Norwalk Fire and Norwalk Emergency Medical Service responded and tried to give the Tinnen-Strmiska first aid. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he later died.

Police are still investigating the accident. A gofundme page has been started to benefit the family.
