HARTFORD – There is a new book by a local author. Hartford author Cindy Brown Austin talks with Stan about her new novel, “Cinders -- Stories of an Inner-City Survivor". Austin is one of Hartford’s authentic neighborhood voices. She was raised in the projects, got married at 17, and had three kids by the age of 19. She understand the struggle of urban communities. An exceptional writer, Austin has given voice to those stories with her novels.
“Cinders -- Stories of an Inner-City Survivor" is set in the North End of the city of Hartford, where she grew up and it is described as a “coming-of-age memoir about the struggles of urban children being locked out of the American Dream."
