KILLINGWORTH - On Sunday at Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth a fundraising and awareness walk for a fatal disease called Huntington's Disease was held.

The 10th annual walk benefitted the Huntington's Disease Society of America's Connecticut Chapter and went about 1.5 miles around a lake with over 100 people participating.

Huntington’s disease is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder that results in a loss of cognitive, behavioral and physical control, and for which, presently, there is no cure. The disease slowly diminishes the affected individual’s ability to walk, think, talk and reason. There is only one FDA-approved treatment for one of the symptoms.
