Fire destroys Canterbury wedding reception facility

CANTERBURY -- Several fire departments responded to a farm in Canterbury on Wednesday night for a fire that severely damaged a wedding reception venue.

There was a fire in a banquet hall at Wright’s Mill Farm, which is located on Creasy Road in Canterbury.

Fire Marshal Paul Yellen said the banquet and kitchen facilities were destroyed and the building was unsound.

The kitchen and lodge were both destroyed, according to the wedding venue’s Facebook page.

One person was injured and was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained during the fire, according to police dispatch.

The facility was booked two years in advance.
