GRANBY – A landscape worker was struck by a car in Granby Wednesday morning and the accident closed down Route 189, also known as Granville Road, for over three hours.
The accident happened just before 9 a.m. when Evan Jackson, 23, of Windsor, was working with a commercial landscaping firm at a home nearby when he was hit by Michelle Allen age 19 of Granby. Allen was not injured.
Jackson sustained serious, though non life-threatening, injuries and was taken to Hartford Hospital.
Traffic was detoured around Northwoods Road to Silver Street, but Route 189 reopened just after noon.
The incident remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Team assisted Granby Police with processing the scene.
