BRISTOL – Police said a man got out of his truck and chased a 12-year-old girl who was walking her dog in Bristol.

On Friday just after 4 p.m., police said they responded to the area of Concord Street and Fairfield streets for reports of a suspicious person.

Police said a 12-year-old girl was walking her dog by that intersection when a man in a red pick-up truck stopped and made a comment to the girl.

Police said the girl didn’t understand the comment as it sounded like a foreign language. She ignored the man and the truck continued east on Fairfield Street.

Shortly after, the girl was walking on Concord Street and the truck began to slowly follow her, according to police.

Police said the girl got scared and ran toward her home, then the man got out of his truck and chased her. As she was running home, the man got back in his truck and left the area. The girl was uninjured, according to police.

Police are investigating the incident and attempting to identify the driver.

The truck is described as a newer model full-size red pick-up truck with silver bumpers and side steps.

The driver is described as an older white man with brown hair with gray streaks, of average weight and height with small round eyeglasses and wearing a gray shirt.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact police at (860) 584-3000.
