SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Massachusetts state police have arrested a Connecticut man for possessing a large-capacity firearm.
Troopers stopped a vehicle being driven by Hartford resident Dominic Cauley at about 2 a.m. Saturday at a sobriety checkpoint in Springfield.
Police said a search of the vehicle turned up a 9mm Sig Sauer firearm loaded with three rounds of ammunition.
Police say the 22-year-old Cauley does not have a license to carry a firearm in Massachusetts.
Cauley is charged with possession of a large-capacity firearm, carrying ammunition with a firearm and related crimes.
He’s being held at the Hampshire County jail in Northampton pending his arraignment.
It’s unclear whether Cauley has a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
