HARTFORD - Two Hartford police officers were injured in a wild police chase Saturday night.

Two men are facing charges after the car chase, involving a stolen vehicle.

Police said the driver of the stolen car, Ricardo Perez, 35, of Hartford, was driving a stolen car around 9 p.m. Saturday when police officers stopped him on Park Street.

Police said Perez put the car into drive, hitting an officer and knocking him down, and then took off. During the high-speed chase, four police cars were damaged before Perez was eventually caught.

The chase ended in West Hartford after spike strips were deployed and Perez was arrested.

Police said one detective, two officers and Perez suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Perez is charged with reckless endangerment and related crimes. He and his passenger, Emilio Diaz, 38, of Hartford, are both charged with possession of a hallucinogenic drug and marijuana.
