14-year-old dies of apparent gunshot wound in Montville

MONTVILLE — State Police are investigating after a 14-year-old died of an apparent gunshot wound in Montville.

Sunday, June 5, troopers were called to a home on Allen Street around 7:45 p.m.

“The investigation into the untimely death is continuing,” police said in a release. “Methodical steps for processing the scene and positively determining the identity of the male juvenile are being taken.”

Eastern District Major Crimes have assumed the investigation.

The Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

There is no danger to the public regarding this isolated incident, police said.
