Police in Meriden searching for ‘armed and dangerous’ man

MERIDEN — Police in Meriden are searching for a man accused in a shooting and they are seeking the public’s help in finding him.

On May 2, around 12:30 p.m., police were called to a shooting Willow Street.

Police said Deon Camp, 23, fired a gun from a moving car, missing his target and striking an innocent bystander. The victim was hit in the neck and suffered serious injuries, police said.

Camp will be charged with assault in the first degree, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Camp is believed to be in the area and police are asking for help in locating him. He should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
