GROTON — Two Connecticut residents have been charged in connection with the May overdose death of a 17-year-old girl.

The U.S. Attorney’s office announced Wednesday that 40-year-old Ramon Gomez, of Uncasville, and 42-year-old Adele Bouthillier, of Groton, face charges including conspiracy to distribute heroin. Gomez was arrested by Groton Town Police on May 30. Bouthiller was arrested Wednesday by federal authorities.

Police say Olivia Roark was found unresponsive of a suspected heroin overdose at a Groton hotel on May 29. She was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

A vigil will be held Thursday at 8 p.m. in Veteran’s Memorial Park for to express support for families dealing with the opioid crisis. A GoFundMe page has been established to help Roark’s family.

Authorities allege Bouthillier gave the victim heroin that had been purchased from Gomez.

Gomez also faces a prostitution charge for allegedly bringing Roark to the hotel to prostitute her.

It wasn’t immediately known if Gomez or Bouthillier have attorneys who can comment on the charges.
