NEW HAVEN–Police continue to search for a suspect one day after a young child was injured in a hit-and-run.
On Sunday, a 4-year-old boy was at the playground at Criscuolo Park with his mother when around 4:10 p.m. he was hit by a dirt bike. The “reckless operator” was driving a red and black dirt bike.
The bike drove off on James Street heading north after hitting the child.
The suspect is described as a heavy-set Hispanic man and has curly hair and a reddish-colored beard. He was wearing a black shirt and black cargo shorts. He
The boy was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital to be treated for a fractured lower leg, but his injuries aren’t life-threatening.
