TORRINGTON -- Two vigils were scheduled Tuesday and Friday in honor of Torrington native KJ Morris, who was among one of the 49 people killed during the shooting at the gay nightclub in Orlando Sunday.
Morris moved to Florida recently after accepting a job as a bouncer at Pulse earlier this month. She has been described by friends and family as a charismatic person, liked by everyone.
In Morris' hometown of Torrington, two vigils will be held in her honor at Coe Memorial Park, 101 Litchfield St, Torrington. The first is scheduled for Tuesday at 5 p.m. and the second Friday at 6 p.m.
She's being remembered by Diva's nightclub in Northampton Massachusetts, where she was a performer. "We will always remember her smile and her amazing way she lite up the stage in her performances. Keep dancing KJ ... And we'll keep smiling remembering you!!"
