WATERBURY -- Maybe he was looking for a good deal on shoes?

A 225 lbs male black bear was discovered at the Brass Mills Mall in Waterbury around noon Thursday. Viewer Maria Baez sent us pictures and videos from outside the mall.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection wildlife division was called to the mall after several people spotted the bear.

They tranquilized the bear so they could move him to a remote location, an official with DEEP said.

FOX 61 has reached out to mall management for comment but have not yet heard back.
