NORWICH–A dog owner in Norwich was cited for several violations after three people, including a child, were hurt by the dog.
On Thursday around 1:30 p.m. Norwich police and animal control officers responded to Golden Street for reports of an animal attack.
A roaming pit bull attacked three people, including a 6-year-old who sustained bite wounds. An adult female suffered a severe injury to the ear. All three victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The dog was not vaccinated or licensed.
The pit bull was located at the owner’s residence and taken into custody by animal control. It is now being quarantined.
The owner, Regina Barnhill, 50, of Golden Street in Norwich, received the following citations: three counts of nuisance/vicious disposition; failure to vaccinate; failure to license; allowing dog to roam; violation of chain/tethering regulations.
