SALEM, Mass. — A community group repainted a cross walk with the colors of the rainbow flag to celebrate LGBT pride month and remember the victims of the Orlando gay nightclub shootings.

Creative Salem, a community arts organization, organized the event. Members painted the cross walk with the bright colors of the rainbow flag, a symbol of pride for the LGBT community.

The group also used the opportunity to pay respects to the victims of the Orlando Gay Nightclub shootings.

The cross walk is located at the intersection of Washington and Lynde Streets in Salem. The city is known for the Salem witch trials in the late 1600’s where almost two dozen people were executed because they were suspected of being witches.
