HARTFORD — The delays at the Dunkin Donuts Park in downtown Hartford are being blamed for the Hartford Yard Goats laying off the team’s front office employees.

“While it is our policy not to publicly discuss personnel matters, the delays in ballpark construction have forced the team to make difficult decisions,” Yard Goats General Manager Tim Restall said in a statement Friday.

The stadium delay also has the team playing their “home games” at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, and also in New York.

Meanwhile, the Eastern League announced more schedule changes for the Hartford Yard Goats from July 18-20.

Specifically, the league said the Yard Goats will move their series with Curve to Altoona, Pennsylvania.

The Yard Goats will play a three-game series against the Altoona Curve, on July 19 and 20 at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona. July 18 is now a day off.

Yard Goats season ticket holders will be allowed to attend all of the games in Altoona with complementary tickets, courtesy of the Yard Goats. All other ticket sales will be handled by the Altoona Curve.

The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club is the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.
