HARTFORD - Basketball tournaments are nothing new in the summer but one Hartford resident is bringing the game he loves and the community he loves together.

Maurice Eastwood started “Heat On The Street” basketball tournament three years ago as a way to cleanup up a local park and give the community a day of fun centered around great basketball.

The tournament was held at Rawson Courts on Holcomb Street on Saturday and the eight teams had to bring more than an entrance fee and their "A" game.

Each team was required to donate a bag of clothes to be donated to Big Brothers/ Big Sisters.

Also as a nod to rules at the neighborhood courts where he grow up Eastwood enacted a rule for this year that dunks where worth 3 points.
