CLINTON – A Clinton man who made videos of drones firing guns and homemade flamethrowers has been arrested on child porn charges.
Austin Haughwout, 19, was arrested for possession of child pornography, enticing a minor with a computer, fourth-degree attempted sexual assault and risk of impairing morals.
Police said Haughwout was arrested on Wednesday following a lengthy investigation, police said.
His bail was set at $35,000 and he is due in Middletown Superior Court on Thursday.
Two years ago, police say he posted a drone video that resulted in an altercation with a woman at Hammonasset Beach in Madison. The woman didn’t want to be recorded by the camera-carrying drone and appeared to have been caught on camera attacking him.
Haughwout got national attention after posting YouTube videos of a drone firing a gun last year and a flamethrower.
After the gun drone incident, Haughout was arrested in July 2015 for allegedly attacking an officer.
CCSU expelled him and he filed suit against the school.
